Tomatillos, also known as Mexican green tomatoes, are the same shape and size as other tomatoes but green in colour with a thin husk-like skin that must be removed before eating. They have a lemon-apple flavour that works well in Mexican dishes. Try using tomatillos to make salsa verde, or blend them with garlic, cilantro and onions to make a sauce for enchiladas or tacos.
